National Indigenous History Month is a time to celebrate the unique heritage, traditions, and knowledge of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Explore ways to celebrate National Indigenous History Month at NVDPL:

Indigenous Language Storytime Kits
Borrow a storytime kit in a local Indigenous language: Michif, hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓, or Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim. Kits include a variety of resources, including books, DVDs, CDs, activities, and toys.
New Murals at Lynn Valley Library
Stop by the children's area at Lynn Valley Library to see two new murals from local artists: Rise Above by Kolten Khasalus Grant (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw | Squamish Nation) and The Boy and the She-wolf by Olivia George (səlilwətaɬ | Tsleil-Waututh Nation).
The murals were introduced on May 19 with a ceremony to honour the artists. NVDPL is grateful for the opportunity to display these works of art for everyone to enjoy. Learn more about the murals and the artists.
