Your library email notices are getting an upgrade! Beginning February 9, NVDPL will start rolling out newly formatted email notices. These improved notices are designed to be clearer, easier to read, and more helpful to your borrowing experience.

There's no action required, but we recommend adding NVDPL to your safe sender list to ensure delivery. See below for more information!

  • What’s changing?

Email notices will switch from plain text formatting to a more modern layout with better visibility for due dates, pickup information, and reminders. These emails will be responsive to desktop or mobile views.

  • Do I need to do anything?

No, there's no action required. However, to ensure you continue receiving notices, we strongly recommend adding NVDPL to your email’s safe‑sender list. This helps prevent messages from being filtered into spam or junk folders. Please note: due to a global issue with Microsoft, some emails to Outlook and Hotmail may be delayed.

  • Not receiving notices after February 9?

Please check your Junk/Spam folders and mark NVDPL as "Safe" with your email provider, or confirm your email with library staff. Connect with staff if you have any questions or if any issues arise.

  • Can I opt out of the new format?

No. All emailed circulation notices will use the new format once fully launched.

  • Need Help?

If you are not receiving notices after February 9, please check your Junk/Spam folders and mark NVDPL as Safe with your email provider, and then connect with staff if you have any questions.

We're here to help! If you have questions or feedback about the new notice design, please reach out by emailing: circ@nvdpl.ca
