National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
September 30 is a day to honour residential school survivors, their families, and communities, and to recognize the lasting impacts of Canada’s residential school system.
Lynn Valley Library will be open from 10:00am–6:00pm on September 30 as a space for learning and reflection. All other NVDPL locations will be closed in observance of the day.
Whether you plan on joining us at Lynn Valley Library, or observing this day at home, we invite you to reflect on the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada and the ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous communities.

Moving through our shared history, join an open honest conversation about how we reconcile our relationship with one another in a way that allows for healing, meaningful consultation, and accommodations between Indigenous peoples and settlers.
