Updated: Feb 27

On Tuesday, February 3, our catalogue vendor updated the online catalogue system, changing the My Bookshelf feature to Account Portal. There have been some issues with this change, for NVDPL and other libraries using this system.

We are working with our catalogue vendor and other affected libraries to fix the problems introduced by the update, including missing Holds pick-up dates.

We apologize for any difficulties with using your catalogue account at this time and thank you for your patience while our service provider works on updates.

What has changed?

The changes to the online catalogue accounts are intended to make it easier to find what you need, manage your items and save time. Here's a summary of what is different:

  • Instead of using the My Bookshelf bar at the bottom of the screen, click the account icon at the top of the page to log in. From there, you can open the Account Portal to manage everything in one place. In Account Portal, you'll see:

    • A snapshot of your current Holds and Checkouts at the top right of the page

    • A menu along the left side that lets you move easily between sections, including:

      • Account (your contact and profile information).

      • Checkouts & Requests.

      • Bills & Fines (replacement charges for lost items, if applicable).

      • Bookmarks.

      • Saved Searches.

  • An updated Checkouts and Requests view is designed to make it easier to manage your items. Here's what you can do:

    • See more items on screen at one time.

    • Filter items by format.

    • Use new renewal options, including renew overdue, renew due soon, and renew overdue and due soon.

    • Holds pick up dates coming later

  • There are also a few changes to catalogue search to improve your browsing experience. You will see:

    • Bookmarks and Saved Searches are now available along the right side of search pages, so they are easy to reach while you browse.

    • An new sidebar view makes it easier to add items to lists and manage saved items as you go.

  • If you have chosen to enable Reading History, you will find it in the Account Portal.
