Borrowing Basics
Air quality monitors can help you assess and improve the air you breathe at home. Indoor air quality matters because Canadians spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. Poor air quality can trigger asthma attacks, worsen allergies, and contribute to respiratory diseases.
The kit can help you learn what is in the air you breathe and identify possible pollutant sources such as dust, smoke, or chemicals.
Particulate Matter PM2.5 and PM10: fine particles from cooking, dust, and smoke that can affect respiratory health.
Formaldehyde HCHO: a volatile organic compound often found in furniture, paints, and cleaning products.
Humidity and temperature: conditions that influence mould growth and comfort levels.
Air Quality Index AQI: a composite score showing overall air quality.
