Friends of the Library

Who are the Friends of North Vancouver District Public Library?

Friends of the Library logo

The Friends are a group of over 150 community members dedicated to the support and enhancement of North Vancouver District Public Library facilities, services, and programs.

Our members span all ages from high-schoolers to seniors. Some Friends are actively involved, others are quietly supportive – but all care deeply about North Vancouver District Public Library.

If you love the Library, becoming a Friends member is an easy way to make a difference. The Library is always happy to welcome new Friends.

What do the Friends do?
The Friends help support North Vancouver District Public Library in a variety of ways, including

 > hosting two to three large sales of books, CDs, and DVDs a year (these sales make up the bulk of our fundraising)

> organizing other fundraisers such as silent auctions and raffles

> fundraising for a range of library events and programs including author readings, District Library Gallery art receptions, Summer Reading Club celebrations, and more.

Friends of the Library Book SaleThe Friends hold meetings once a month to discuss ideas on how to enrich North Vancouver District Public Library services. The Friends are open to creative fundraising ideas!
