Metro Vancouver (the region) has an area of 282,000 hectares and covers a distance of 96 km from Maple Ridge to Bowen Island.

Canada is the host and will preside over this year’s G-8 summit on June 25-26 in Canada’s Muskoka region.

What is the G8?

The Group of Eight (G-8) is a forum for the leaders of eight of the world’s most industrialized nations, aimed at finding common ground on key topics and solutions to global issues. The G-8 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Areas in dark blue represent the member countries in the G-20; light blue represent members of the EU not individually represented.

The G20 Summit Meeting will be in Toronto June 26th & 27th, 2010.
