Borrowing and Renewing
Eligibility of Borrowers
Any resident served by InterLINK libraries is eligible to register as a Library borrower upon providing proof of name and current address. See Getting a library card for more details.
Conditions of Borrowing
Library borrowers are responsible for any charges incurred on Library materials borrowed on their cards, even on items borrowed by someone else using their cards, unless the card has been lost or stolen.
A parent or guardian must accept responsibility for all charges incurred on a child's card (0 - 12 years), by signing each card. Library borrowers are responsible for reporting changes of address and lost or stolen cards to the Library immediately.
Each library borrower is allowed 100 items. However, the Library reserves the right to limit some categories of materials. Currently, borrowers are limited to four Fast Track DVDs. New borrowers will be limited to a total of ten items checked out at any one time for a period of two months from their registration date.
|Type of material||Loan Period|
|Fast Tracks DVDs||3 days|
|DVDs, Blu-rays, and Speed Reads||7 days|
|New fiction and in-demand non-fiction||14 days|
|Most other items (including books, videogames, playaways, videos, magazines, and audiobooks)||21 days|
If you choose to receive library notices by email instead of by telephone, we will send you courtesy emails when your requests are available to be picked up and when items you have checked out will soon be due.
To sign up for email notification, ask the staff at the checkout desk or telephone your branch:
Lynn Valley Main: 604-984-0286
Capilano Branch: 604-987-4471
Parkgate Branch: 604-929-3727
Most items can be renewed up to two times as long as no one else has placed a request for the item. There are no renewals on some high-demand items such as magazines, Fast Track DVDs and Speed Reads.
Most items can be renewed from home through our web site - log in to your account and enter your username or barcode and PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number) to log in choose Titles Checked Out, click in the checkbox beside items you want to renew and then hit the Renew button.
Items can also be renewed in person or through our automated telephone notification system at 604-981-3190.
Note: if you have more than $15.00 in fines, you will not be able to renew your items . If your card has expired, you will also be blocked from renewing items.
