Back Pain, Neck Pain and Anxiety: Direct and Indirect Approaches with F.M. Alexander System

We all have experienced worry and physical or emotional pain at some point in our lives. Back pain, muscle pain, fatigue, anxiety.  Everybody is familiar with what pain or worry might feel like at times...  What to do though if it seems that  emotional and physical resources are dwindling .... where to look for those resources?

This work shop is a learning opportunity and an exploration into the up-to-date methods to cope with both emotional and muscular tension.

The speaker brings her unique expertise and knowledge to the community. You will learn about most recent research and have a glimpse into the effective ways to deal with even most severe symptoms of both pain and anxiety. She will share how we can deal with tension using so called "direct" and indirect approaches.

About the speaker:

Alena Minova is a CanStat certified Alexander Technique teacher. Alexander Technique is taught these days at major performance arts schools worldwide, like Royal Academy in London. It is an effective scientific method to work with excessive tension, pain. It is widely known among professional dancers, musicians and actors to cope and reverse repetative strain injuries and performance anxiety. Today, everybody can benefit from applying Alexander skills in everyday life. There are currently 13 CanStat certified practitioners of Alexander Technique in Vancouver.
