Skunks can be a big problem on the North Shore as they have become accustomed to humans, thriving happily in urban areas.

North Vancouver District Council has recently adopted a new Smoking Regulation Bylaw (Bylaw 7792). This new bylaw builds upon smoking restrictions set by previous District bylaw and provincial legislation by further restricting where smoking is permitted in the District. This new bylaw comes into effect May 15, 2010. All Bylaws can be accessed on the District's Website.

The North Shore has some wonderful parks to go and explore this Spring. A great map listing all our local parks can be found on the North Vancouver District website under the tab [Play] then [Parks] where you can search many Park links including a great Map under Search for Parks.

When we thought what would be the most useful information for visitors coming to North Vancouver during the Winter Olympics given that you are all probably bombarded by Olympic Information we thought you might appreciate “WHERE TO EAT” recommendations as food is always a comfort away from home. When I asked staff for their Restaurant recommendations I was overwhelmed by the response and variety of tastes. Here’s a list of "Staff Recommendations" on the North Shore:
