Interlibrary Loans

When requesting Interlibrary Loans, please choose Lynn Valley, Capilano or Parkgate locations for pick up.  To select your preferred location, use the drop-down box located below the phone number on the Interlibrary Loan request page.

 
RETURNS must be made to a North Vancouver District Library only: Lynn Valley, Capilano, or Parkgate.

Step 1

Check our Library catalogue to see if the item is available.

Step 2

If North Vancouver District Public Library does not own the item, check the Outlook Online catalogue to see if it is available at another library in the province.  To do this, follow the instructions under "Using Outlook Online" below.

If the item was published in the last year or if the item is a DVD, video, CD, or cassette, North Vancouver District Public Library cannot borrow it. Try suggesting the item for purchase instead.

About Interlibrary Loans

The Library allows a maximum of 10 active interlibrary loan requests at any time.  Please make only one request per title.

Check the progress of your request by clicking on Patron Menu from the first page of the Outlook Catalogue and choosing ILL Request Tracking.  Use the same name and password created when the item was requested.

You can email a librarian if you need help finding an item.

Using Outlook Online

Choose the item with the greatest number of local locations.

Once you have chosen the right title, click on Request this Item at the top right of the screen. 

An ILL request form will open up. We do not need your address. Enter your information in the following fields:

NAME: Last name first please!
PASSWORD: The last 4 digits of your phone number.
LIBRARY CARD NUMBER: Enter your North Vancouver District Public Library card number in full.
E-MAIL & PHONE: Enter your e-mail address and phone number.
PICKUP LOCATION:

Choose the branch ( Lynn Valley , Capilano, or Parkgate)

DO NOT use Special Instructions unless you need a specific volume or format of the book requested.

When you have filled in the above fields, click on Submit Request.
